Biography:
Becca Hubbard has been an Associate Director in the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes since January 2008. In July 2009 she was appointed Associate Director for Health and Wellness in addition to her advising responsibilities. She is the advisor for LSU’s national champion baseball team along with the men’s and women’s swimming & diving program.
Under her supervision, Julius Gloeckner was named the SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year in Men’s Swimming & Diving and the women’s swimming & diving team was named a 2011 CSCAA Scholar All-America Team. Additionally, several student-athletes have been named Academic All-Americans while working with Hubbard including former baseball pitcher Paul Bertuccini and swimmers Jane Trepp and Samantha Goates. Hubbard has been instrumental in resurrecting the baseball program’s APR from a paltry 908 at her arrival to a current historical score of 987.
Hubbard came to LSU after serving as an academic counselor at The Ohio State University and an Academic & CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator at Ohio University. She has twice served as a facilitator for the NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference and also served in the same capacity at the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills Conference.
Hubbard graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s in sport leadership and also earned her master’s degree in sports management from UGA in 2003.
