The Cox Communications Academic Center offers a chance for anyone interested in academics to become involved with helping
student-athletes. The Academic Center employs students working for their undergraduate and graduate degrees as well as
individuals who have their degrees and wish to work as a staff member. Jobs for students range from mentoring to technology.

Graduate Assistant

Academic Tutor
Graduate students are able to become academic tutors for student-athletes who are struggling in a particular
class. By becoming a tutor, you will be able to assist the student-athlete in learning what it takes to
understand the class material.

Academic Mentor
Academic Mentors consist of graduate students who help either individual or a small group of
student-athletes learn how to plan for college. Almost every incoming freshman student-athlete is assigned
a mentor who will work with the student to setup academic plans.

IT Staff Member
Ever since the Cox Communications building was built, the Academic Center has needed a technology staff to
maintain its 150+ computers. The technology staff consists of undergraduate students who have expertise in
computers.
