Technology Services
When the Cox Communications building was completed in 2002, the Academic Center utilized the new technological
capabilities that the building offered. The Academic Center now has 150+ desktop computers for student-athletes
to use during study hall. With the computers, the students are able to complete homework assignments, papers, and
even take quizzes. The Academic Center also offers several services through technology, such as the Student-Athlete
Monitoring System (SAMS) as well as e-Lectures.
In order to maintain the technology, the Academic Center employs an IT staff that consists of LSU undergraduate
students who possess a great amount of knowledge in computers and are able to assist student-athletes. The IT staff
members welcome student-athletes who require help with any technological problems that may arise when using the
technology at the Academic Center.
